As much as Tiramisu makes up for a classic coffee dessert, we figured a spin on this in an unconventional fashion that will take you be surprise. Not convinced? Then give this a try.
Kaapi Tiramisu was crafted keeping the ones who do not always have access to the gourmet stores.
Serves - 2
Ingredients
- 125gms Cream cheese/Mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon Vanilla extract
- ¼ cup (62.5ml) Heavy Dairy whipping cream(cold)
- 8 Lady finger biscuits/ 300gm pound cake or Vanilla sponge cake Sliced /10 Tea biscuits
- 2 tablespoon Unsweetened Cocoa powder for dusting
- 1glass freshly brewed Americano with Love Kaapi chicory grounds
Method
- Prepare the Kaapi Americano
- 90ml of hot water
- 45ml of Freshly brewed coffee decoction
- Pour 90ml of hot water (80-85 deg temperature) & add the brewed Coffee decoction.Let this cool.
- Begin by whipping the cream cheese until light and fluffy.
- Add the sugar and vanilla and continue whipping until combined.
- In a separate chilled bowl whip up cold whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the whipped cream gently into the cheese mixture until combined and load this into a piping bag(optional)
- Chill this mixture for 20 minutes in the fridge.
Assembly
- Take a bowl wide enough to soak the Ladies finger biscuits/cake slices.
- Gently soak each side for a few seconds and place them in the serving dish.
- Scoop out enough cheese mixture to cover the biscuits/cake.Alternatively you may use the piping bag method to reach crevices.
- Keep repeating the layers until the last layer if well covered in the cheese mixture.
- Dust a thick coat of cocoa powder over the entire surface of the dessert.
- Chill for three hours or overnight to allow the flavours to infuse well.
- Serve chilled.
