Is your coffee game lacking the punch?
Who doesn’t want to brew the perfect cup of smooth and balanced coffee that tastes like heaven? If you are thinking you need to buy expensive, fancy coffee gear and spend a lot of your precious time on brewing coffee, trust me it is not your equipment of lack of time. A great cup of coffee can be brewed with the simplest equipment and in under 10 minutes!
Here are 3 simple things that no one tells you, but they can really change your coffee game, for better!
- Water
The most overlooked aspect in brewing coffee is the use of water. Move over tap water and switch to filtered water for brewing your coffee. Using filtered water will make a world of difference in the flavour of the coffee decoction.
- Temperature
If you are using scalding hot water to brew the coffee you are risking over extracting it, whereas using water that is not hot enough it will result in an under extracted cup of coffee ruining your coffee experience. The ideal temperature is 93 degrees Celsius.
- Airtight Storage
It’s time to take a good look at the containers in which you store the coffee beans/ grounds. An airtight container preserves the freshness and aroma of the coffee and saves you the disappointment of a cup of coffee that lacks, taste and aroma. If you are a hoarder [like me] and keep the coffee in the packets, make sure you seal them well.
Here is a bonus point – Good quality coffee
This sounds like a no brainer, right? Yet, it is one of the most common reasons for an underwhelming cup of coffee. Good quality coffee that has been roasted and ground afresh will take your brew many notches up. A good quality coffee does not always translate into complex brewing technique. Try a coffee brand like Love, Kaapi that brings you single estate coffee beans roasted by one of India’s finest master roasters.
